Team Breakdown: PIAA District 11 Boys

D11-A Boys - Team Breakdown

Expect a close battle this season for the lone state qualifying spot in District 11 Class A. Last year, Mahanoy Area put together a strong season to take home the district crown. The Bears bring back a talented top two in Cole Streisel and Adam Soriano, but lose the rest of their varsity team from last year. Mahanoy will have some rebuilding to do if it wants to return to the top spot and Hershey.

The team to beat looks to be Notre Dame-East Stroudsburg. Despite losing top runner Andrew Beers, NDES returns five of seven from its '17 varsity squad that placed second in D11-A. Jakob Leonard and Logan Wicki comprise a solid top two that will look to take the lone state spot this fall.

Moravian Academy will also be in the hunt. It also loses its top runner from last year, but has four varsity runners back in the fold this season. James Foran will look to lead Moravian, which could challenge NDES. Marian Catholic and Shenandoah Valley are among the other teams with a chance at a high finish in the district this season.
